Establishing Local Action Groups in rural areas

During October 2014, Caritas Jerusalem established the local action groups that have the main goals for strengthening the public and private partnership with the communities in Marj Ibn Amer and Zababdeh villages.

The aim of these local committees is to engage the local stakeholders who represent the civil society and the private sector to participate in the decision processes. It will be the bridge that will transfer information from the community to the municipality and vice versa.

The LAG’s functions will be creating and maintaining co-operation of all stakeholders at the local level related to employment and social inclusion, improving the integration and co-ordination of activities leading to social inclusion and increasing the rate of employment, Defining strategies of economic and social development for the respective territories, developing and implementing projects and securing their sustainability.
